There were serious delays in payment process and in the accountability of financial operations, due to non-availability of latest financial information.  Information was archaic; fixed and stereo-typed reports were being generated and abnormally long time was wasted to obtain specific and detailed information.  This Accounts and Budget Information was rendered unusable.

PIFRA is presently facilitating long-term discontinuation of some legacy applications followed by further integration of information technology infrastructure.  There is transparent, accurate and timely financial information processing in an IT environment based on international standards and Civil expenditure tracking system.

PIFRA aims to facilitate further sophistication in data handling, management and usage.  An integrated repository of data will be established for the government as a whole through data bank, extraction, and data mining facilities.
